Justin Towey is a Managing Director and Partner with Morse, Towey, White & Hoffman at Hightower. Along with Andy Morse, he is responsible for managing the team’s proprietary investment portfolio and overseeing the firm’s daily operations.
A native New Yorker, Justin knew from an early age that he wanted to work in the financial industry. After graduating from Coker College, he joined the Atlanta office of Salomon Smith Barney, where he supported the branch’s top investment consultant in executing the separately managed account business. During this time, Justin gained an in-depth understanding of asset allocation, institutional portfolio management and equity and fixed income trading. Looking to play a more active role in money management, he joined the Morse Group at Salomon Smith Barney in 1999. He later earned the UBS Private Wealth Advisor title, a designation reserved for select financial advisors equipped to handle ultra-high-net-worth clientele. He also became versed in company benefits for corporate executives, restricted stock awards and option exercise programs. Justin earned the designation of Certified Investment Management Analyst® from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business.
At Hightower, Justin focuses on investment analysis, strategy and portfolio management. He thrives on the intensity required to maintain a current perspective on the economic and geopolitical issues that impact clients’ investments, and deeply values the personal relationships the firm forms with its clients. Justin devotes significant time and energy to monitoring investment portfolios for asset allocation, researching alternative asset vehicles, assessing money managers’ activities and discussing specific investment strategies directly with clients. He works to ensure that clients benefit from the individual skills and strengths of each member of the team.
Justin also applies his professional background and skills to his activities as a former board member of the Leviticus 25:23 Alternative Fund, which provides low-cost capital to local organizations, including daycare centers, facilities for the elderly and low-income housing in the tri-state area. He is a member of the Coker University Board of Trustees, and its current Chairman. He also serves on the board of directors of Project Main Street, a charity that provides financial assistance to individuals and families coping with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease).
Justin holds his FINRA Series 7, 63 and 65 licenses, as well as a life and health insurance license.
